A plain-language overview of how TapID protects your business's data and your members' details. This page describes how the product works; it is not a legal document — see the privacy policy and terms for those.
Your data is separated from every other business
TapID is multi-tenant: each business can read and change only its own members, activity, and settings. This separation is enforced by the server on every request, not by the app being polite.
Owners control staff access
Owners invite staff, assign them to specific locations, and deactivate access when someone leaves. Deactivated accounts lose access at their next action.
TapID support access is granted per business — and you can revoke it
When you ask us for help, we get access to one business at a time, for a limited period, and every grant is recorded. The support account appears in your own Staff accounts list, every action it takes is logged under its own name, and you can deactivate it yourself at any time. We never enter your account invisibly.
Sensitive changes are validated on the server
Points, balances, credits, and passes are never changed directly from a browser. Every such change goes through the server, which re-checks who's asking and whether it's allowed.
Member contact details are protected
Phone numbers are masked in list views and revealed only when a staff member needs them for a specific member. Full history stays behind the member's own page.
You can delete a member's personal data
When a member asks to be forgotten, you can permanently erase their name, phone, and email and zero their balance from your dashboard. Anonymized activity is kept for your reporting.
Encrypted in transit
All communication between the apps, your dashboard, and TapID's servers is encrypted over HTTPS.
Actions are recorded
Enrollments, check-ins, earns, and redemptions are logged with the staff member who performed them, giving you accountability and a way to answer support questions.
